ABOUT

Assistant Professor Dr. Sahar Ahmed Mahdi Ali is a distinguished physician and academic. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery (MBChB) from Al-Nahrain University in 1996 and later specialized in radiology and medical imaging through the Arab Board of Health Specialties in 2013. Her career spans nearly three decades, during which she worked as a physician in Ministry of Health institutions for eighteen years before transitioning to academia as a lecturer in the Radiology Department at Al-Turath University since 2018. Dr. Sahar has held key administrative positions, including Head of the Radiology Technology Department in 2021 and Dean of the College of Health and Medical Techniques in 2023. She was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2022. Her scientific research focuses on diagnostic imaging, including MRI for soft tissue tumors, ultrasound for detecting congenital anomalies, and radiation safety for medical personnel. She is a member of the Iraqi Medical Association and the Iraqi Society of Radiologists, and has several studies published in reputable international journals, which contributes to the development of clinical practice and medical education in Iraq.
